FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found it to be misleading.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search along with some keywords, we found a bulletin published by TV9 on YouTube dated April 13, 2021. The title of the video read, “Vadodara: 200-bed COVID facility comes up at Sabha Mandap of BAPS Atladara temple | TV9News.”

As per the video, a 200-bed Covid-19 facility has been set up at Sabha Mandap of BAPS Atladara temple.

On comparing the facility in the temple in Vadodara with the picture in the viral post, it becomes clear that both show the same facility.

We found a news report by a local Gujarati media house, Desh Gujarat, dated April 14, 2021, carrying a report on the temple in Vadodara being converted into a Covid-19 facility.

The report stated that 45 Covid-19 patients were being treated in the facility which is well equipped with oxygen lines and liquid oxygen tanks.

We also went through some recent COVID-19 media reports and couldn’t trace any report that suggested that the BAPS temple in Mumbai has been converted into a Covid-19 facility.

Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the post claiming that the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Mumbai has been converted into a Covid facility is misleading.
