In the backdrop of the acute shortage of life saving oxygen in the country in the middle of the raging COVID-19 pandemic, a video is being shared on social media with a claim that oxygen tankers are being sent to India from Pakistan.

“Oxygen tankers For Indians Help Going from Pakistan To India Viral Video,” the post read.

The Facebook posts can be seen here and here.

FACT CHECKĀ

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We ran a keyword search along with a Reverse Image Search and found that the same video was posted by Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on April 19, 2021.

According to the tweet, the video is of the first Oxygen Express train that departed from Mumbai for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

“Railways is running its first Oxygen Express in its fight against COVID-19. The Ro-Ro service with 7 empty tankers departed from Kalamboli, Maharashtra for Vizag today. Oxygen Express will move via a green corridor for loading with Liquid Medical Oxygen,” the tweet read.

The same video was also shared by the official handle of Central Railways.

According to a press note, dated April 19, 2021, the train was on its way to Visakhapatnam steel plant in the ECoR zone where it was supposed to be loaded with liquid medical Oxygen.

However, we also found media reports stating that Pakistan did offer to provide relief materials to India amid the surge in coronavirus cases. Another report can be seen here. But nothing to substantiate that a train with oxygen has been sent from there.
Hence, from the above fact check, it is clear that the video in circulation is from India only.
Hence, the post is false and misleading.
