Indian doctor arrested for groping sleeping teenage girl on United Airline flight

A 28-year-old doctor of Indian origin was arrested for allegedly groping a minor girl sitting next to her on a New Jersey-bound United Airlines flight, according to media reports.

A doctor named Vijakumar Krishnappa, allegedly touched the girl inappropriately while she was asleep and travelling alone on July 23. The girl complaint about him to the crew and was shifted to another seat.

After the flight landed at Seattle, she made a complaint after meeting her parents, however, Krishnappa left the airport, according to her attorney.

The family filed a complaint against the airlines for negligence and FBI was called to investigate the matter. The girl then managed to recognize him by a photo.

The Newark court according to court records filed by the FBI charging him with criminal sexual contact.

He was later released on a bond under strict monitoring in which he is not allowed to have contact with minors.

Krishnappa’s court appointed attorney said, “adamantly denies the charges and deserves to be considered an innocent man.”
