Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received by US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump. Both leaders exchanged pleasantries before moving inside the White House.
Inside the Oval Office, PM Modi said that he was grateful for the respect shown and the welcome given by the American people. He added that the US welcomed 1.2 billion people. President Trump praised PM Modi’s efforts in economic development.

Delegation level talks between India and US began with PM Modi reiterating his earlier statement and thanked the American delegation for welcoming them. President Trump added that the US arms industry was the best in the world and that “no one makes military equipment like the US.”
Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump issued a joint statement on Monday. Both leaders emphasized the shared democracy between the two countries while also stating their joint commitment to combating global terrorism. Both leaders also focused on cooperation in trade and energy as well as cooperating on regional and international issues.
