The Indian representative at the permanent mission in Geneva has clearly stated that Jammu and Kashmir is an inalienable part of India and that Pakistan is in illegal occupation of Indian territory. The representative also stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have time and again reaffirmed their destiny through India’s democratic institutions while Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has become an epicenter for terrorism.
The representative also stated that Pakistan has become the face of international terrorism and that it should “shut down its terrorist manufacturing units and bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice.”
The Indian representative also highlighted Pakistan’s poor human rights record in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Baluchistan. The representative called for Pakistan to improve the human rights situation and dismantling the terrorist infrastructure.
