South African opening batsman, Hashim Amla became the fastest player to score 7000 runs in 150 innings in One Day Internationals, beating Virat Kohli’s record of 161 innings.
34-year-old ace batsman broke the record after his game against England in the last match of the series. Amla is known for his consistency and he is also one of the five players (Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, AB de Villiers and Michael Bevan being the others), who have a steady average of more than 50.
The earlier record before Virat Kohli was held by Amla’s teammate Ab De Villiers (172) innings. There are four Indian batsmen in the list for this record (Virat Kohli, Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni).
